Its D Day folks
Departure Day. Just did an emergency parts run by Ocho Eight, Denver's moped shop in the Rhino District. Had to grab an angle port exhaust for my stock backup za50 which i forgot had an angleport exhaust not flat like the e50 primary engine. Check. Stopped for coffee at Crema Coffee (pictured).

A toast to my friends and family
Thanks to the generous support of my friends and family, and sponsorship from Treats Mopeds HQ (www.treatland.tv), I have raised over half of my initial fundraising goal, enough to make my dream a reality, thanks to you. I am humbled and encouraged by your support for this 1st annual Pinball Run endeavor.
I am about to embark on the second leg of tomorrow, carpooling from Denver to the starting line in Portland, Maine with three great Colorado moped dudes, Josh Gill, Derek Stahl, and Rick Corage of the infamous BLK BLK moped club.
First I wish to thank my beautiful, eternally supportive girlfriend, Alicia. You are my best friend, my true love- I will miss you so, so much. The best part of this trip will be September 12th when I have you back in my arms, in sunny Denver after 3 long weeks apart. I miss you already. Thanks for keeping an eye on my Pippi Cat!
I also wish to give special thanks to my family, Mom and Dad for their generous donation, and to my sisters. Thank you family for your continuous, enthusiastic support of my many bizarre adventures past and present, and for sending me off with hugs, well wishes and blessings on the eve of my departure last Friday night. Your support means the world to me.
Massive thanks to the following friends for their generous sponsorship and encouragement: Wes and Joyce McIntyre; Pam and James Thomas- Pam designed my awesome Flying Sugar Pig moped club logo; Lindsay Fuller and her Dad, Mike Fuller; David Wakeman; Tracy Smith; my brother Jason Kuchynka; Aunt Evy Blum; Fernando Camargo for loaning his Puch e50 engine and performance parts, Treats Mopeds HQ in San Francisco for paying my $100 registration fee and sending a performance race crank free of charge- you consistently provide the best customer experience I have ever encountered, anywhere; Mosquito Fleet's Daniel Miller- spent 3 days working on my moped, rebuilding the engine, getting lights working and making a million adjustments and test rides. Daniel, you are an amazing guy and are the reason I could actually take a great running, dependable moped engine on this epic ride. You have my eternal gratitude!
Additional thanks to these dear friends for their support: Becky Wells; Hasan Basheera; Emily Mayo; and Peter Calandra.
Without your financial support and encouragement this adventure would not be possible, and there would literally be no one representing the mighty West Coast on this history-making 1,900 mile moped journey. Thanks for helping make it happen. I can't wait to share the journey with you.
Prost!

Nick Thomas to aim moped at Pinball Run: Two Strokes to Paradise!
Pinball Run is the first annual 50cc vintage moped endurance race, beginning August 30th in Portland, Maine and ending in Key West, Florida on September 8th, nearly two thousand miles later. I will be embarking on this adventure from my home in Spokane, Washington on August 24th, driving my moped in my toyota corolla wagon to Denver to carpool the rest of the route with the Denver team.
Until then I am busy assembling a dependable, fast engine- an single speed, Puch e50 case with a racing crank (donated by Treats Hq moped shop, thanks guys!), a 70cc kstar speed kit, 3 shoe clutch, and Estoril exhaust pipe. I will also be restoring my seat with new, comfy foam and a new custom made seat cover, as well as an extended luggage rack and super organized tool kit and spare gas mount.
Stay tuned for more info, pics and a video interview i will be posting soon. Thanks!
If you would like to chip in some $ to help support my journey, I would be so thankful.
